Arario Gallery at The Armory Show

Tallur L.N., "Panic Room," 2006. Jute bags and 4 blowers, dimensions variable.
Arario Gallery will participate in the upcoming Armory Show, which runs March 5 – 8. Stop by our booth (Pier 94, #1510) to see works by contemporary Indian artist Tallur L.N., such as his interactive sculpture Panic Room. This piece invites viewers to step inside a low-lying pile of jute grain sacks that inflate overhead with the push of a button. The bunker-like structure addresses the potential for conflict over shrinking food resources in a rapidly growing world, and the plight of rural farmers in globalizing nations such as India.
